It is also a test of an ANSYS CLASSIC (tm) to .stl converter macro I wrote for ANSYS classic structural analysis program. The coarse faceting is due to the limits of the ANSYS Ed educational version of ANSYS that I used at home. The normal ANSYS version would permit very fine faceting. last 3 images are the geometry, coarse faceting, nicer faceting I added tree2.stl with nicer faceting on the trunk
- see attached file: ansys_2_stl_100516a.mac for conversion of an ANSYS model to .stl format. Instructions are embedded in the macro comments. Note all element normals must point outward from the object.
